My True Love Will Come...

HOME TONIGHT!!!

Desi's been gone to Wisconsin since early early early Monday morning for a week of vision casting, coaching & consulting with churches and leaders who are interested in transitioning to simpler forms of church life that can be more missional. He's had a great week, but is ready to come home. We've missed him greatly, but have had quite a good week. More than wanting help with the kids, I miss his companionship.

We're getting the house tidy to welcome a family from DC who will be staying with us for a few days before they move into a duplex 1 block from our house. In December, our friends the Rants will be moving into the other 1/2 of the duplex! We are incredibly excited to have friends move into our neighborhood so close. We are all reading The Irresistible Revolution (along with a few other families who live out of state). It's a book I've avoided for awhile...because I didn't want to be convicted! Well, now is the time and the little I've read so far has been awesome. I think I'm going to love this book.

Speaking of books, I recently finished To Kill A Mockingbird. Oh, what a brilliant book! I've just begun the last Potter book. They are quite entertaining and a nice quick read despite being hundreds and hundreds of pages long! I've also begun Crazy Love to discuss with my small group. And since I enjoyed The Outliers so much, I started The Tipping Point this week. I usually have 3-5 books going at once stationed at various spots around the house :) What can I say? I love to read!

Oh yeah, one more book...the kids and I just started The Runaway Dolls which is the 3rd novel in the Doll series books. They are about 2 doll families that are alive and their adventures together. We read a chapter most evenings.

Enjoy your weekend. Look your loved ones in the eye and give them lots of huggin' and squeezin' and lovin'!

I love your posts. I am also reading "Blink" and "What the Dog Saw", both by Malcolm Gladwell, who wrote "Tipping Point" and "Outliers". "Along comes Faith" by Mitch Albom.
